Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy is a process that can be used to address a wide range of difficulties and life issues. You can contact me, for example, when you are facing a difficult life situation such as a divorce or a break-up, problematic family relationships, or parenting challenges. During psychotherapy, we can also focus on specific diagnoses such as depression, anxiety and panic attacks, personality disorders, adjustment disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, psychosomatics, etc.

In children, these may include separation anxiety, oppositional defiance, adaptation to school and kindergarten, elective mutism, and psychosomatic issues. In adolescents, we may encounter eating disorders, identity problems, dealing with the psychological consequences of bullying in the classroom, entrance examination or graduation stress, adaptation to high school and university…

Adults

All of us get into difficult situations at some point in our lives. Some psychological states and life situations are more easily handled with professional psychotherapeutic help. Psychotherapy serves as a means to better understand what is going on in your life and thereby assists you in finding your next path. As a Gestalt therapist, I consider it essential to support the client in (re)connecting to their own internal and external sources of self-support.

Children and adolescents

Children and adolescent psychotherapy focuses on the age group from about 3 to 20 years of age. The bottom age limit, however, is very individual and depends on the emotional and social maturity of the child. For preschool children and younger school-age children, psychotherapy is conducted as play psychotherapy using a range of methods, e.g. the therapeutic sandbox or drawing techniques, so that it presents as little psychological burden on the child as possible, but at the same time enables both basic clinical diagnosis and application of therapeutic methods.

In the case of adolescents, therapy is conducted in a manner similar to adult therapy, whereby I always take into account the individual needs and characteristics of the client.

I am currently not taking on new clients for psychotherapy
